An independent stage for new voices.
Casino Theatre is inspired by and named after a theatre that opened in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1848. With its opening, it broke the Royal Theatre’s monopoly and gave a platform to playwrights and performers from outside the establishment - just steps from the Royal Palace, where they could be discovered by the cultural figures of their time.
The new Casino Theatre continues that spirit in Los Angeles. It provides a stage for talented writers and creators who might not otherwise have access to the rooms where creative decisions are made. Each showcase presents short live performances based on unproduced screenplays, performed by talented actors before an audience of producers, executives, and creative leaders.
In a time when artificial intelligence and algorithms shape much of what we see, Casino Theatre stands for something deeply human. It celebrates presence, original storytelling, and artistic courage. The showcase is impartial and unaffiliated with the works it presents. Its only purpose is to give great talent visibility and access to the people who can help their stories find their place in the world.
